This Is My Story

After 30+ years in the Cosmetology industry, Marybeth got involved with The American Cancer Society as a local facilitator and Area Trainer to assist women going through cancer-related treatments. Her goal is to address the aesthetic challenges that go hand-in-hand with cancer treatments to elevate a woman’s self-esteem, confidence and beauty.

She is happy to assist you at your salon with your stylist or you can visit her at BARE. beauty boutique in Chesterland.

Marybeth’s Specialties

Wig Services

In our experience, a wig is often a priority (outside of medical challenges) for women looking to address physical changes related to cancer treatments. Not all salons are prepared to meet these unique needs, so Marybeth is here to help all stylists and their female clientele. For everyone’s convenience, appointments with Marybeth can take place at any salon, including BARE. beauty boutique.

Wig Consultations

The main goal is to aid stylists and their clients in the comforts of a familiar place. No fees are passed to the salon owner or stylist for appointments that take place outside BARE.

Creating aesthetic solutions for women going through cancer related treatments.

Words cannot express how wonderful – and beautiful – Marybeth can make our oncology patients feel! At what may sometimes be the lowest point in a woman’s life, Marybeth brings her some light. Marybeth has donated her time and talent to the Look Good Feel Better program for years, through the American Cancer Society. She cuts and styles patients’ hair, fits chemotherapy patients for wigs, and generally is an amazing resource for the patients and for the oncology department.

I had a very good experience choosing a wig.  Marybeth offered several styles, colors, and lengths of hair. My girlfriend helped me choose my wig.  Marybeth taught me how to wash and care for my wig. Each time I wear the wig I get compliments on my ‘new shorter haircut’.  People cannot tell that it is not my own hair because the wig looks so natural.

The aesthetic side of cancer treatment is often overlooked by the attending medical community; thank Goodness for people like Marybeth, who volunteers to help ladies through their treatments and keep their spirits lifted. She truly is an angel!
